About Me

I have always had a profound fascination with timber and the art of crafting exquisite pieces from this versatile material. Following the completion of my high school education, I chose to defer my university studies and immersed myself in the world of furniture making. Over the next few years I gradually veered away from a civil engineering degree that did not quite resonate with my passion and I embarked on a journey to explore new horizons overseas. This decision reignited my interest for furniture craftsmanship as I dedicated many months to assembling office furniture across the picturesque landscapes of New Zealand's south island. Subsequently, I honed my skills over a couple of years by embarking on house renovation projects along the captivating shores of Canada's west coast. Returning home brimming with a newfound zeal for furniture design, I pursued and successfully attained formal qualifications as a furniture maker. Over the years, my career path has been remarkably diverse, encompassing endeavours ranging from creating bespoke timber furniture pieces to executing sophisticated residential cabinetry and renovations. I have delved into the realm of commercial joinery fit-outs and eagerly seized any opportunity to broaden my expertise, constantly seeking out fresh challenges. A notable project involved meticulously restoring a section of the original 1924 staircase within the Myer Emporium during their latest refurbishment, underscoring my enthusiasm for preserving heritage craftsmanship. In recent times, my roles have shifted towards mentoring apprentices, delving into design and drafting, overseeing production processes, and efficiently managing projects. Embedded in my extensive journey is a firm belief that while perfection may be elusive, unwavering attention to intricate details is the cornerstone of achieving an exceptional and awe-inspiring final product.
